2004
The first MotoGP race
Lusail International Circuit was inaugurated with the MotoGP race in 2004. Spanish rider Sete Gibernau won the race, with Colin Edwards and Rubén Xaus following him on the podium.

Night racing starts
Since 2008, thanks to a lighting system with 3600 bulbs, it has been possible to race at night at Lusail International Circuit.
2021
Formula 1 gets on track
In 2021, the first Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix took place at Lusail International Circuit, filling the void left by the Australian Grand Prix.
