Qatar has opened its borders to welcome the world back.

Complete your pre-electronic registration through the Ehteraz platform (www.ehteraz.gov.qa) before visiting Qatar. This process is optional for citizens and residents of the State of Qatar, GCC countries and EU countries.

Quick guide on travelling to Qatar

These travel processes are only applicable to fully vaccinated visitors who are above 12 years of age.

GCC & EU countries

  • A pre-travel RT-PCR test is now optional
  • Travellers are excepted from quarantine
  • Conduct a covid-19 rapid antigen test within the first 24 hours of arrival in Qatar
  • Keep the covid-19 health app used across GCC & EU countries that reflects visitor’s Immune status handy

Non red listed countries

1. Step

Covid travel policy 

Check the travel policies to see what applies to you based on the status of the country of departure and make note of the travel policies that apply to you whether standard health measures or red health measures as shown below. 

Standard health measures for travellers arriving from non-red listed countries

Pre-departure PCR test

Must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin.

Quarantine information

Exempted from quarantine.

5 days hotel, or home quarantine for those with first-degree relatives (on condition that a proof of relationship and residence is provided).

A rapid antigen test is to be taken on day 5 of hotel/home quarantine.

Visa requirement

Begin by verifying your visa requirements to travel to Qatar. Citizens of over 95 countries are eligible for visa-free entry into the State of Qatar creating good chances that you will not require a visa to travel.

Acquire a negative PCR test result

All travellers needs to present a negative PCR test result that must be less than 48 hours old when arriving in Qatar.

2. Step

Register and apply for your travel permit on Ehteraz

Register for an account on www.ehteraz.gov.qa and apply for your travel permit in a few simple steps. The following documents will be required to successfully submit your application. 

  • Passport and travel details
  • Vaccination certificate (required for travel without quarantine)
  • Hotel booking confirmation 
  • Note: the travel permit is applied for and issued for free. No additional costs will be acquired for the permit. You will be notified as soon as your travel permit is approved. Download, print and keep the travel permit handy during your travel.

Download and print your approved travel permit

You will be notified as soon as your travel permit is approved. Download, print and keep the travel permit handy during your travel. 

4. Step

Print and fill up the Undertaking and Acknowledgement form

Passengers must fill in the details and sign the Undertaking and Acknowledgement Form​ before arriving in Qatar. The form is alternatively available on the Ministry of Public Health website, pre-registration platform website (www.ehteraz.gov.qa​) and airline online booking form.

5. Step

Download the Ehteraz mobile app

Before departure to Qatar, download the Ehteraz mobile application and have the app ready upon arrival.

Show permit to check-in agent

At the airport show your travel permit to the airline check-in agent. Please note that without a valid permit the airline will deny boarding.

2. Step

Activate the Ehteraz mobile application on arrival

Activate the Ehteraz mobile application* on arrival using your international or a local SIM card. If you'd like to register the app using a Qatari SIM card, you can easily buy one from the Ooredoo or Vodafone store at the Hamad International Airport. 

* The Ehteraz mobile application can be activated using your passport number. Your Ehteraz application will then start updating the health QR codes status and your vaccination details. 

Red listed countries

Travellers arriving from red listed countries will have to abide by the red health measures

Fully vaccinated travellers or recovered travellers arriving from red listed countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR test result on arrival and undergo a one-day hotel quarantine. A rapid antigen test will be conducted at the end of the quarantine.

Unvaccinated and non-immune travellers cannot enter Qatar while arriving form a red list country.

Travellers who’ve received two doses of a conditionally approved vaccine followed by one dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine will be considered fully immune on completion of 14 days post the last vaccination.

Travellers requiring hotel quarantine, will have to book the hotel quarantine on the Discover Qatar website
