Qatar entry rules

  • Hayya Card holders will be exempted from the Ehteraz pre-entry online registration process
1.

Book your stay - only applicable to Indian, Pakistani and Iranian passport holders.

Make your hotel reservations for your entire stay in Qatar with Discover Qatar in order to obtain your Visa on-arrival.

Register for your Ehteraz pre-registration

Register for your entry permit with the Ehteraz portal using your travel documents. Uploading of vaccination documents is now optional.

Pre-travel COVID-19 tests

Either conduct a PCR test 48 before departure or a Rapid Antigen test 24 hours before departure and keep your negative test certifcate handy.

Note: Rapid Antigen self tests are not valid.

Arrive and download your Ehteraz health application

Activate the Ehteraz mobile application* on arrival using your international or a local SIM card. If you'd like to register the app using a Qatari SIM card, you can easily buy one from the Ooredoo or Vodafone store at the Hamad International Airport. 

* The Ehteraz mobile application can be activated using your passport number. 

COVID-19 tests and other rules

  • Children aged six years & above who are citizens/residents of Qatar are required to take a post-travel Rapid Antigen Test within 24 hours of arriving in the country
  • Children aged six years & above who are visitors/non-Qatari ID holders are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken no more than 48 hours before departure or a negative Rapid Antigen Test result taken no more than 24 hours before departure
  • Unvaccinated travellers can now visit Qatar. However, it is strongly recommended that travellers get completely vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza for their health and safety

GCC nationals and residents – do not need to register on Ehteraz Portal. However, this exception doesn’t apply to Indian, Pakistani and Iranian passport holders who need to apply for pre-approval on the Ehteraz Portal. 

Quarantine is no longer mandatory for all travellers arriving into Qatar, however, travellers who test positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Qatar must undergo quarantine measures in accordance with the procedures followed in the State of Qatar.
