Doha Tower

Designed by Jean Nouvel, Doha Tower or Burj Qatar is designed to look like the traditional mud and clay bird towers that still exist in parts of Qatar.

The tower’s cladding, meanwhile, mimics the Islamic mashrabiya, or screen, used for dividing a room.

Gray during the day and lit orange by night, Doha Tower won the CTBUH Skyscraper Award for the Best Tall Building Worldwide from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat in 2012.

Tornado Tower

Shaped like a tornado, Tornado Tower stands out for its simple design, tapering inward in the middle before curving outward again at its highest point.  The hourglass-shaped building won the Best Tall Building Award from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) in 2009.

Palm Tower

The hexagonal Palm Tower features glass box-like protrusions along the sides, recreating a palm tree in glass.

Barzan Tower

Barzan Tower fuses traditional and modern styles.  Qatari style concrete arches at the bottom offer a touch of traditionalism, while the rest of the tower is all modernist glass.
