Travel advisory for visitors flying in from India, Pakistan, Phillipines, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka:

  • Visitors vaccinated/recovering from COVID-19 in the State of Qatar are subject to a two-day hotel quarantine and are allowed to leave the hotel on the second day if the result of the PCR test is negative
  • All other visitors are subject to a hotel quarantine for a period of 10 days

Hotel quarantine:

All hotel quarantine packages for visitors/returning visitors must be booked via Discover Qatar only.

About children:

  • Children aged between 0 and 11 years, travelling from green listed countries, can travel with their vaccinated parents and follow the process of their fully vaccinated parents (exemption from quarantine).
  • Children aged between 0 and 11 years, travelling from yellow listed countries, can travel with their vaccinated parents but will be subject to hotel quarantine for 7 days. 
  • Unvaccinated children will have no exceptions. They will be subject to quarantine for a duration dependant on the country of origin as mentioned below
    • Travelling from green listed countries require 5 days of hotel quarantine
    • Travelling from yellow listed countries require 7 days of hotel quarantine
    • Travelling from red listed countries require 7 days of hotel quarantine

Travel permit process

A travel permit is required for all visitors and must be applied for at least 12 hours before traveling.

  1. Begin by verifying your visa requirements to travel to Qatar. Citizens of over 95 countries are eligible for visa-free entry into the State of Qatar creating good chances that you will not require a visa to travel. Please check here, if you require a visa and apply accordingly.
  2. Register for an account on www.ehteraz.gov.qa and apply for your travel permit in a few simple steps. The following documents will be required to successfully submit your application. 
    •  Passport and travel details
    • Vaccination certificate (required for travel without quarantine)
    • A negative PCR test result that must be less than 72 hours old when arriving in Qatar
    • Hotel booking confirmation 
    • Note: the travel permit is applied for and issued for free. No additional costs will be acquired for the permit. You will be notified as soon as your travel permit is approved. Download, print and keep the travel permit handy during your travel.

  4. At the airport show your travel permit to the airline check-in agent. Please note that without a valid permit the airline will deny boarding.
  5. Download the Ehteraz app prior to your departure and activate the Ehteraz mobile application on arrival at the airport. Activation of the app will require a Qatari SIM card that is easily available either from Ooredoo or Vodafone on arrival at Hamad International Airport.
