Relax, rest, and recuperate
Qatar knows how rejuvenating the water is, and much of Doha is built around it, ensuring stellar views while you relax.
Start your day of zen with a gentle jog along the corniche against the backdrop of Doha’s stunning skyline. After a hearty breakfast, take those tired muscles to one of the city’s many leading international spas such as the Six Senses, Remede, bliss, for pampering fit for a king, or queen. All that relaxation works up an appetite, and a bayside table for a long relaxing lunch can be just the ticket. Soak up some sun and frolic by the beach before settling in for a nap in a cabana.
For some retail therapy, head to one of the city’s glitzy malls, one-stop destinations for shopping, dining and entertainment, or venture to Al Hazm, a beautiful complex with cafes, restaurants, and boutiques.
Take a trip to the past with a ride in a wooden dhow boat, before immersing yourself in the meandering alleys of Souq Waqif.
As the sun begins to wane, recline in comfort on a traditional wooden dhow and take in the beauty of Doha’s skyline as it is set ablaze at sunset. Back on land, complete the perfect day with a lazy stroll through the centrally located Souq Waqif, built on the site of an ancient trading market and still very much a hub of activity for locals and tourists. Thread through the alleys selling everything from trinkets to spices, homewares to musical instruments and walk through the gold souq, where all that glitters is, in fact, gold. Eat your way through the cafés and stalls lining the main squares, or settle in for some people-watching while sampling traditional deserts washed down with Arabic coffee before returning to your hotel with the knowledge that tomorrow you can do it all again.
