Next, head to Souq Waqif, which is vibrant with living history and keepsakes. Built on the site of an ancient market, Souq Waqif is where travellers can hold a falcon in their hand or feel like Midas in the shimmering alleys of the gold souq.

Dine at your resort or try one of Qatar’s famous eateries

After a long day, it’s time to have dinner. A fascinating destination for food enthusiasts, Qatar walks a fine line between modernity and tradition. It presents a rich and diverse culinary scene with a plethora of choices, from Michelin-starred restaurants to traditional Qatari cuisine and flavourful street food. The choices are endless.

Start the day in a leisurely fashion by the pool

Afternoon

Half or full-day tour of Zekreet

Explore Zekreet  and the haunting moonscape of the Ras Abrouq formations. Nestled in between the mushroom shaped rock formations, Richard Serra's East-West/West-East installation comprises of four steel plates. Over 14m in height, the installation spans over 1km, offers a comment on isolation and the passage of time. Other highlights include Film City and the Arabian oryx sanctuary.

Retail therapy 

Morning

Experience pure luxury at Al Hazm Mall

Al Hazm means “the higher grounds” in the Qatari dialect and this exquisitely designed mall certainly delivers an elevated experience.  

Head to Katara Cultural Village.  Home to shops, galleries, theatres, concert halls, and a multitude of cafes and restaurants, it’s easy to lose oneself here.  Standing at the edge of Katara, Galeries Lafayette is features over 400 designer brands from all over the world.  Feels like Paris, but with Arabian hospitality.

Continue on to Villaggio, which is Qatar’s most compact destination for luxury stores, all within a Venetian inspired mall.
